Bloom Faculty Member No Longer Employed Following Investigation
It is unclear whether a Bloom faculty member allegedly involved with an inappropriate relationship with a student resigned or was fired.
A Bloom High School faculty member under investigation for allegedly engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a student is no longer employed by the district, Sun-Times Media reports.
Bloom administration previously said no sex was involved in the relationship after the student’s parent brought it to their attention in Februrary. District 206 attorney Michael DeBartolo said the Illinois Department of Chidren and Family Services investigated the relationship, but would not comment whether the employee resigned or was fired.
“Sexual relations are not the only relationships that are inappropriate enough for someone to lose their job either by termination or resignation,” DeBartolo told the Sun-Times Media. “There are many forms of inappropriate relationships.”
