Bloom Mathletes Take Second Place in Conference Meet

Nearly every student placed in the competition.

Several students from students can hold their heads high after taking second place in a mathlete competition that included seven area schools. 

The students compete had to solve problems and complete equations from several sections, including polynomials, radicals and exponents and linear functions. Crete took first place in the event. 

Valeria Lopez took first place in matrices and Lupe Avalos scored a perfect 10 in area, perimeter and volume, according to Bloom staff.

District teachers Jonathan Visona, Jim Doherty and Chris Baikauskas have been judging contests all year, said Bloom HR Director Joe Malizia.
