Bloom NHS Students Awarded for Community Service

Prairie State College gave the 2012-2013 Bloom High School National Honor Society the 2013 Michael R. Monteleone Community Service Award.

This year's Bloom High School National Honor Society (NHS) students were recently recognized by Prairie State College (PSC) for outstanding community service. 

PSC presented Bloom's NHS group with the 2013 Michael R. Monteleone Community Service Award during an August board meeting. The annual award is given to a person or group in the local community for contributing "in an extraordinary way to education through community service as either a volunteer or a community leader."

“I sleep easy knowing the goodness and kindness in our students’ hearts” NHS advisor Elizabeth J. Fushi-Peterson said. “I truly believe these young people will be lifelong community volunteers and advocates wherever they should live.”
