D170 Prepares for Cold Weather

The school district is taking precautions in the event of emergency school closings.

Chicago Heights School District 170 sent out a notice Friday afternoon informing parents of their efforts to maintain bus operations during the dangerously cold weather that’s expected to last throughout the next several days.

“Please use every precaution by having your child bundled up with hats, gloves and heavy coats if your child wars for the bus or walks to school,” wrote D170 Supt. Thomas Amadio.

The school district says they’ll be monitoring the conditions of the busses over the weekend. Should the weather call for an emergency closing, the district will provide updates on their website, Facebook page and via automated calls.
