District 206 Announces Summer Reading Assignment for Juniors

Each member of the Class of 2015 at Bloom and Bloom Trail high schools must read at least one book this summer and then complete a creative assignment on that book. The assignment counts for the equivalent of one test grade.

Students in the Class of 2015 in Bloom High School District 206 might be on summer vacation, but that doesn’t mean the education process is on hiatus. During the course of the summer, students at both Bloom and Bloom Trail high schools who are entering a junior level English class, are required to read one book and complete a creative project to complete the assignment.

Students entering a Humanities I Honors class must read two books, while also completing a series of questions on each book, an essay and on creative project on either book as well.

The summer reading assignment counts for one test grade in the student’s class and must be completed.
