PSC Kids@College Summer Learning Program

Give your kids a head start for the upcoming school year and help ward off summertime boredom with classes in English, science, computers and more at Prairie State College's Kids@College program.

Kids@College is geared toward children entering 2nd through 7th grade and offers small class sizes to give students individualized attention. Classes are grouped by grade level, with the day split into morning and afternoon sections. Morning classes include language arts, math, computers, reading, science, and art. Afternoon classes include sports and fitness, and classes such as first aid, babysitting, Spanish, study skills, digital photography, computer skills, and greener planet environmental education.

Classes are scheduled for Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. from July 11 through July 28 at the College's Adult Training and Outreach Center on the main campus, 202 S. Halsted St., Chicago Heights. The program costs $379, with 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. classes available for an additional fee.

"Kids@College gives children a head start on the upcoming school year," said Mike Moody, coordinator of the Matteson Area Center and the Kids@College program. "Kids can make new friends while exercising their minds and bodies in a structured learning environment."
