Blazing Trojans Boys Track Team Runs Down Championship at SAC Meet

The Blazing Trojans boys track team took first place in 12 of 18 events during the Southland Athletic Conference championship meet on Wednesday, May 8.

The Bloom Township boys track team took home top honors at the Southland Athletic Conference Championship meet, notching wins in 12 of 18 events en route to the title. The Blazing Trojans tallied 218 points during the meeting, besting second place Crete Monee by more than 60 points to take home the crown.

The Blazing Trojans took the top spot in the 200-meter dash, Micah Fraizer; 400-meter dash, James Harriel; 800-meter run, Anthony Bryars; 1600- and 3200-meter runs, Dorian Simmons; 110-meter hurdles, Jonah Wiley; 4x100-meter relay, Micah Fraizer, James Harriel, Jonah Wiley and Charles DeLoach; 4x200-meter relay, Jonah Wiley, Charles DeLoach, Cedric Johnson and Darrick Weathersby; 4x800-meter relay, Daniel Perez, Darrick Weathersby, Jarel Stewart and Isaiah Quinn; pole vault, Charles DeLoach; long jump, William Williams, and shot put, Mr Clark.

New meet records were set by Harriel in the 400-meter dash, the 4x100-meter relay team, the 4x200-meter relay team, Charles DeLoach in the pole vault and William Williams in the long jump.
