Free Hepatitis C Testing Events for Individuals 18 Years and Older at U.S. Cellular Field, Home of the Chicago White Sox

Chronic hepatitis C infection is the most common blood-borne disease in the United States, affecting approximately 3.2 million Americans. However, many people don’t know they have it. Even if you don’t look or feel sick it may be damaging your liver. Together Merck, the American Liver Foundation, Coalition of Positive Health Empowerment, and OraSure Technologies are sponsoring Step Up to The Plate Against Hepatitis C, a program which is offering free chronic hepatitis C testings at U.S. Cellular Field on August 21st, September 8th, and September 13th. The test is a simple, confidential finger-prick blood test with results provided on-site by medical professionals who will be available to answer questions and provide more information.

Fans will also have the opportunity to meet White Sox sports commentator Steve Stone at the testings two hours before the first pitch of the game.
