Prairie State Pioneers 5K Run/3K Walk
The fifth annual Prairie State Pioneers 5K Run/3K Walk will take place Saturday, July 23, 2011 at the Pioneer Athletic Park, located on the campus of Prairie State College (202 S. Halsted Street, Chicago Heights, IL 60411).
Starting time for the 5K run will be 9:30 a.m. while the 3K walk is set to step off at 9:35 a.m.

The race/walk courses are marked at each mile and a digital clock will be at the finish line.
Cyclists, in-line skaters, roller skaters, scooters and other wheeled vehicles (with the exception of wheelchairs) and dogs are not allowed during the events.
Runners and walkers can register for the event at the PSC Field House or online at www.prairiestate.edu/athletics/crosscountry5krun.html.
There will be a $20.00 early entry fee for the 5K run and a $15.00 early registration for students with a student ID. Runners will have to pay a $25.00 fee should they choose to register on the day of the event. Students wishing to register on race day will pay $20.00.
A $12.00 fee will be offered for walkers who wish to register early with a $15.00 fee on the day of the event.
All early registrants will receive a free t-shirt.
Participants in both the run and the walk will receive a goody bag, food and beverages at the finish line as well as a raffle entry, good for the possibility of winning running gear and other gifts.
Proceeds of both the run and walk will help support the Prairie State men’s and women’s cross country programs.
Race day registration will take place in the Prairie State College/St. James Health and Wellness Center parking lot, located north of the college’s main campus.
Participants can pick up their race packets on Thursday, July 21 at the Prairie State College Athletic Department Office with shirts included in the packet.
