Ferry Provides Intangibles for Marian Catholic

Spartans junior guard Alanna Ferry played a huge role in Friday night's victory over Fenwick, even though she didn't score.

She assisted on one of the biggest baskets of the night. Fenwick had cut the Marian lead to three points in the fourth quarter before Ferry found Matthews open in the corner with 3:40 to play. Matthews nailed the three-pointer to give the Spartans a 39-33 lead. The crowd went crazy, and Matthews scored again on the team’s next possession to stop the Fenwick run.

“I just have to keep the mistakes small, and just distribute the ball as quickly as possible and get the easy shots,” Ferry said.

Ferry knows her primary roles on the team are playing good defense and handling the ball. She feels Friday night’s win will go a long way toward building momentum for the Spartans’ playoff run.

“This is a good win to put us into the playoffs. We feel good,” she said.
