Former Marian Catholic High School standout and Homewood Small Fry graduate Vance Cooksey was signed as a free agent by the Bulls on Monday.

Cooksey, a 6-foot, 175-pound guard who helped lead Marian Catholic to a regional championship in 2006, was one of five players signed to fill out the Bulls' training camp roster. He played collegiately at Youngstown State University and later Pikeville College (Ky.). He was part of an NAIA national championship team at Pikeville.

More recently, Cooksey played for the Texas Legends in the NBA's developmental league. The Bulls also signed Ryan Allen, Andre Emmett, Kyrylo Fesenko and Marko Jaric. All five signees are considered long shots to make the team's roster.
