Marian Catholic Senior Parent Appreciation Night Bittersweet for Some

A pregame ceremony for the parents of the Spartans' senior football players kicked off the Friday night festivities on Sept. 8.

Though the victory, the football team did have something to celebrate on Friday, Sept. 8. Before kickoff, the Spartans took time to honor the parents of the senior football players on Senior Parent Appreciation Night.

Lining up in the end zone, the parents and players were introduced one-by-one while walking to midfield and receiving a round of applause from the crowd.

“This is very exciting to share the field with him and his teammates,” said Tracey Anderson, mother of Marian linebacker Jake Anderson.

Though Tracey said the honor was touching, she said it was bittersweet.

“Tonight is awesome, but it's very sad, too, that this is coming to an end,” she said.
