Rich Central’s House on Fire

Olympians left Tyler House is starting to get a feel for all of his pitches, signaling trouble for Southland hitters.

Tyler House has been the ace for a Rich Central team that’s off to a great start to the season with a record of 12-1-1.

House, 3-1 on the season, has been dominant at times. The scary thing for future Olympian opponents is that House seems to just now be finding all of his pitches and hitting his stride in the season.

“I feel I am starting to get my strength back,” he said. “When it is cold, it is hard to get loose.”

House has a fastball that tops out in the upper 80s. He also has a nasty curveball and a devastating changeup.

“(Those pitches) just started working again, so now I can throw many pitches at different speeds so I feel I can do a lot better,” he said.

House’s variety of pitches were working in his dominant performance over Bloom Township. He pitched a complete game, striking out nine and allowing just one run on two hits, as .

“He is a good pitcher,” Bloom Township coach Joe Reda said. “We tried to attack when we could, but it was tough facing him with five lefty hitters in our lineup.”

House was well-rested, having not pitched in almost two weeks.

“If you look at it, he is just now getting into form,” Rich Central head coach Corey Stallings said. “This was the first time he had command of all of his pitches. He was inside, he was outside and he looked good and will continue to get better.”

House will be attending the University of Missouri and plans to play baseball.

“They know what they’re getting in him,” Stallings said. “They’re getting a quality kid and good leader. They’re getting a gem.”
