Young men work out during football camp held at Bloom Trail.

Football prospects ranging from age 10 to 18 spend weekdays running up and down bleachers and going through drills at Bloom Trail High School.

Their goal is to be a football team that is ranked in the top10 in their division, to put Bloom on the map as a state playoff contender.

Coach Scott Schulz is working with the 10-14 year-olds. "We're working hard," he said. "We're focusing on special teams today. Yesterday, was an offensive day. Tomorrow will be a defensive day."

As Schulz talks about the upcoming season, about 30 boys scale the bleachers within minutes.

"We run the bleachers for endurance, to get them in shape for the upcoming season," Schulz said. "There is some good talent here. We see some strong, athletic kids that will be good players. Our goal is to win conference."
