Marian Catholic softball coach Kerri Evans had to be scratching her head after the Spartans allowed three first-inning runs.
But her team responded in a big way, getting two of those runs back immediately in the home half of the opening inning. Then, Marian Catholic erupted for four more in the sixth to complete a 6-3 rally in a recent game against Andrew.
Pitcher Amy Ziems settled down after the first inning and didn't allow a hit the rest of the way.

Trailing by a run going into the sixth inning, Marian Catholic was helped by two Andrew errors. Rebecca Stanton's sacrifice fly tied the game at 3-3 and EraShawna Sadler scored on a wild pitch to give the Spartans a 4-3 lead.
