Comic Drawing, Wine Tasting and Third Ward Fun: Weekend Planner

• A three day garage sale in the Rosewood Heights Subdivision. According to the event listing, you will find everything from tools and furniture to dishes and clothes. 

Friday Only

• Where: , 20712 Western Ave., Olympia Fields
• Date: Aug. 17
• Time: 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
• Admission: $15
• Come out for a relaxing evening of wine tasting, hors d'oeuvres and live music under the stars. Fee includes tasting flight of 6 different wines. Additional tastings, wine by the glass, and bottles available for sale.

Saturday Only

• Where: , E 13th St & Center Ave, Chicago Heights
• Date: Aug. 18
• Time: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
• All residents are invited to attend the 2nd Annual 3rd Ward King Park Extravaganza. The events of the day will include a health fair, basketball tournament, youth games, entertainment and more. 

• Where: , 1527 Otto Blvd, Chicago Heights
• Date: Aug. 18 and Aug. 25
• Time: 10 a.m. - noon
• Admission: $20 to sign up for both classes.
• This is a crash course in real comic book drawing! In this class, students will learn how to create their own unique comic book character! The first session will be instruction, brainstorming, and development of an individual character.

• Where: 333 Dixie Hwy, Chicago Heights
• Date: Aug. 18
• Time: 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.
• An open air farmers market featuring growers, artisans, crafters, farmers, bakers, distributors, re-purposed goods, fundraising events and lemon shake-ups and hot dogs.  Vendor fee is $10 for a 10x10 space.
