Photo Gallery: Hitting the Pools in Chicago Heights and Olympia Fields

The new Tolentine Park on Governors Highway has a free water park opening for the season. Chicago Heights Skyline pool offers two pools but no water slide for this season.

On one of the hottest days of the year, south suburban residents found ways to keep cool.

One of the best kept secrets is the new at 20700 Governors Highway. This park offers a large water "Sprayground," which is open every day in the summer from 11 a.m through 7 p.m. Children can come for free.

In Chicago Heights, Skyline Pool is open for the season. The pool includes a 1-foot baby pool, a 3-foot junior pool and a 5-plus-foot pool. Not open this season is the water slide. The popular local attraction does not meet new codes, so the slide is closed until further notice. Skyline's open hours are from noon until 6:30 p.m. daily. Skyline does not offer daily swim rates.
