Haunted Trails and Pumpkin Festival: This Weekend in Chicago Heights

Friday

Teen Night Haunted Trail"Be led by creatures of darkness through the forest and find out what happens when the spirits take over. Will you make it through the trail or be one of the lost souls? Registration is limited, registration at the door only if space is available. Trail is designed for ages 12 and up."

Saturday

Illinois Defenders Girls AAU Club Tryouts: Try out for the top 10 ranked Illinois Travel Basketball team at Mokena High School.

Recycled Robots Class at Union Street Gallery: "In this fun workshop young students will learn how to make their own robot using recycled materials and some fun art materials as well. This project will teach young artists about the basics of three-dimensional design as well as using alternative materials to create art." Register by Wednesday, Oct. 16.

Hobo Night in Homewood: "The Rail Committee will host an evening for the entire family at the Rail Park located on park Avenue at 6:30 p.m. Join the committee for marshmallows, hobo stories, an old fashioned sing-a-long, and tours of the Rail Park's retired and restored Illinois Central locomotive and caboose.

"'Tis the Season" Bazaar and Boutique: "Come and shop for the holidays at our biennial bazaar, featuring handcrafted items sure to add flair to your life!  There will be wearable art in the shape of purses, hats and headbands, jewelry, home accents for Fall, Thanksgiving and Christmas, soup mixes  and a variety of other unique treasures."

Spirits of the Oaks Haunted Trail: "It's the time of year when darkness lengthens and the Spirits of the Oaks become restless. Are you brave enough to walk among them? Visit our haunted trail on Friday, October 18th or Saturday, October 19th from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The event is sure to raise the hair on the back of your neck."

Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra Opening Night Concert: "The Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra, led by Music Director David Danzmayr, opens its 36th Season with a Grammy award-studded concert program that continues the Orchestra’s commitment to pairing American music with classical masterworks."

Mystical Arts of Tibet Sacred Music/Sacred Dance: "Unique singing, rich costumes and masked dances. The famed multiphonic singers of Tibet’s Drepung Loseling Monastery have taken the world by storm while promoting world peace and healing through sacred performing art."
