Spooky Dance Party and More: This Weekend in the Heights

Here's what going on in and around Chicago Heights this weekend.

Friday

Costume, Candy & Campfire Night at Sgt. Means Park: A night of fun, contests, dancing, snacks and more. Sponsored by the Olympia Fields Park District. All kids welcome—must be accompanied by an adult. 

4th Annual Spooky Halloween Dance Party: "Stop by and visit our Spooky Haunted House, take part in our costume contest and enjoy some great music & dancing!" For kids in grades 1-10.

Park Forest Haunted House: "Bring a canned food good for a discount on admittance. $3 w/ canned goods & $4 without canned goods. $2 for children 5 years and younger."

Union Street Beat: Open Mic Night: An evening of local art, music, and atmosphere. 

Haunted House in Park Forest: GKC Productions will once again scare you as they bring their crew of ghosts and the un-dead to Calvary UP Church located at 425 N Orchard Drive.  The event will be dedicated to help the Rich and Monee Township Food pantries for families in our community. 

Taize Prayer Service: This one-hour service consists of simple songs, scripture, a service of light, periods of silence and meditation, and a time for voicing our petitions.

Ailey II (Dance Performance): Part of a 31-city world tour. Ailey II is "known for merging the spirit and energy of the country's best young dance talent with the passion and creative vision of today's most outstanding emerging choreographers."

Saturday

Symphony of Style Best of Friends Fashion Show and LuncheonA fall tradition going back more than two decades, this benefit fashion show begins at 10:30 am with an upscale jewelry and accessory bazaar. 

Free Community Paper Shred & Electronic Recycling Day:
Dispose any of your sensitive documents or hardware effortlessly and securely.

Ingalls 14th Annual Conquering Breast Cancer Forum: The Conquering Breast Cancer Forum is a free educational awareness event that features oncology experts whose topics focus on medical and cultural issues surrounding breast cancer in the African-American community.

Sunday

Trunks of TreatsThe community children are invited to attend Trunks of Treats sponsored by St. Paul's Lutheran Sunday School.

Evening Benefit for Suburban Youth Symphony
Hosted by the Cottage on Dixie owners Glenna and Dudley Elvery at their Olympia Fields home.
