The Chicago Heights City Council currently consists of six elected alderpersons and an elected mayor, but in April 2011, the wards will be restructured to include a seventh ward. The positions of city treasurer and city clerk will be elected rather than appointed. City Hall is the home of the council chambers, where the Chicago Heights city council meets on the first and third Mondays of every month.
