Chris why is it that N W Indiana newspaper can do a article on the City of Chicago Heights passing the Senior Living Center but the Patch doesn't ?

Jason,
We've been following the decisions the city has made regarding the senior living center and have written articles about it. But whenever there isn't a post about something you want to know more about, please continue to let me know and I will try to provide more information. We will continue to track what happens with the redevelopment of the property on Dixie Highway, and see if reservations about the decision are justified.

Just wondering why a Indiana paper can do a article on something that happens in Chicago Heights, but the Patch which follows the Heights had nothing following the counsel meeting, along with the Chicago Heights Star way to keep the community informed

Must be a conspiracy involving the big, bad Unity Party, right Jason?

Winston glad to have you responding,no conspiracy just wondering why the Cities newspapers can't print information on things that are important before a out of State newspaper does? Maybe we can see if Casey Toner or Chris will do a follow up on the Park District supply contract, that our now Park Supt was part of? Winston that usally keeps you quite.

I see where you're coming from, Jason. One thing I would like to point out is that we are not a newspaper in the traditional sense. We try to be much more than that. This is an avenue where a concerned resident like yourself can blog and start a discussion about the things that matter most to him or her, much like Marc Wiley does. I see why you would be frustrated if you feel we're not doing something we should be, but we play multiple roles in the Heights now, from highlighting Bloom's successes to giving local businesses one more way to promote themselves in difficult economic times. So while you may not see an article posted on each and every development, the information here will always be relevant to the Heights.
Imagine if there was no Chicago Heights Patch. Two years ago that was the case, and judging by what people tell me, I'm sure we have added something useful to the community. Thanks for always letting me know what you think, and please continue to do so. Your input helps me figure out what I need to improve.
