Woman Arrested After Making Stabbing Motions at Boyfriend: Police

Chicago Heights police reports, Jan. 27.

SUNDAY, JAN. 27 Larry D. Dumas, 42, of the 100 block of East Sycamore in Park Forest, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after he was stopped near the intersection of 14th Street and East End Avenue for swerving and speeding, according to the report. Dumas was unable to provide proof of insurance for police and said his driver's license was suspended. Police smelled alcohol on Dumas and asked if he had been drinking, to which he said "no," according to the report. Dumas also refused to take field sobriety tests, police said. As Dumas was taken into custody, police discovered an arrest warrant for his passenger, Tiera P. Robinson, from the Cook County Sheriff for a previous DUI charge. Robinson, 34, was …

Woman Comes Home to a One-Two Punch: Police Blotter

Chicago Heights police reports, Oct. 22-24.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 24 A 27-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police she came home from visiting a neighbor to find the Gary, IN man she was dating sitting inside his vehicle, which was parked in her driveway. The man got out of the vehicle and struck the woman twice in the face with a closed fist, according to the report. He then left the area. Heights Man Accused of Whipping Woman with Belt

The man was arrested after he returned to the scene and attacked a second woman, according to the report.

David Balderas, 32, of the 100 block East 23rd Street, was arrested and charged with battery and domestic battery after he whipped a woman with a belt on Oct. 23, according to police.  A 22-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police Balderas, who is her ex-boyfriend, came to her home to remove his belongings but ended up getting into an argument with her about her property. Balderas then slapped the woman across the face, grabbed a belt and started whipping her with it, according to the report. 6-Year-Old Boy Calls Police as Mom is Choked

Little boy calls 911 after he and his 3-year-old sister walk in on dad choking mom, according to the police report.

A Chicago Heights woman may have been saved by the actions of her 6-year-old son after she was choked by the boy's father Sunday night.  The 25-year-old woman told police she was sleeping when her ex-boyfriend came to her home ringing the doorbell and knocking on the door. The woman's 6-year-old son opened the door for his father and, soon after, the woman woke up with the man's hands around her throat choking her, according to the report. As the woman yelled "stop it," the son and his 3-year-old sister came into the room and screamed as well. The son called 911 and the man left residence. The woman complained of pain to her neck but refused all medical treatment. Police had not found the woman's attacker at the time of the report.  Sign …

Heights Women Accused of Attacking Police and Beating Neighbor

Two women were arrested Sunday, Oct. 14 after returning to the scene where a woman was brutally beaten.

Two Chicago Heights women were arrested after one was accused of brutally attacking her neighbor, according to police. Dasheena Williams, 30, of the 1300 block of Washington Street, was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing and assault, after she and nine other women showed up in the yard of woman Williams allegedly battered earlier that day, according to the report. The initial fight with Williams left the victim with injuries to her face and hand, requiring stitches in her chin, finger and lower lip, according to the report. Williams returned and taunted the woman, stating, "I cut you last night. Come off that porch so I can beat your (expletive) again," according to the report.   As the police were taking Williams into custody…

Woman Hit by Car in Food 4 Less Parking Lot: Police

Chicago Heights police reports, Oct. 10-11.

THURSDAY, OCT. 11 An 18-year-old Sauk Village woman told police she was walking through the parking lot of Food 4 Less on Western Avenue when she heard screeching tires and was hit by a blue Ford Thunderbird. The woman fell to the ground but saw the driver, who she recognized as her 23-year-old cousin. Chicago Heights Fire Department personnel was at the scene but the woman refused medical attention. Police: California Man Arrested For DUI

Chicago Heights police reports, Sept. 26 - 28

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 26 Marty L. McKemie, 43, of Felton, Calif., was arrested and cited for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without insurance, and disobeying a stop sign at 4:08 a.m. at 16th Place and Chicago Road. A patrol officer pulled McKemie over after he disobeyed a stop sign and caused the officer to swerve into oncoming traffic, according to the report. While speaking with McKemie, the officer detected the strong odor of alcohol on his breath and noticed that his eyes were bloodshot and watery and that his speech was slurred. When asked, McKemie told the officer that he had been drinking. After failing a field sobriety test, McKemie was arrested and transported to CHPD, where a breathalyzer test showed his blood …

Bounced Check Gets Frankfort Man Arrested: Police Blotter

Chicago Heights police reports, Sept. 25.

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 25 Police suspect Marcus R. Joiner, 27, of the 400 block of West 14th Place, of domestic battery against his girlfriend. The victim called police at 10 p.m. and told them that Joiner had just attacked her and fled on foot. Police searched the area with negative results before speaking with the victim. According to the report, she told police that she and Joiner had been arguing all day and that while arguing he spit on her face, grabbed her shirt, and began pushing her around. When she grabbed a metal broom handle to defend herself, Joiner took it from her and began hitting her in the legs with it. She put her hands up to block the strikes and he hit her right hand, causing a laceration on the pinkie finger. Joiner fled …

Police: Driver Intentionally Hits Dog and Keeps Going

MONDAY, SEPT. 24 A 29-year-old Chicago Heights man told police he was walking near the intersection of 12th Street and Center Avenue when he was approached by three to four unknown teenage men, who knocked him down, kicked him and punched him in the head. Cops Accused of 'Trying to DUI' Dyer Man: Police Blotter

Chicago Heights police reports, Sept. 7-9.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 9 John F. Petrassi, 36, of the 14100 block of West 81st Drive in Dyer, IN, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Police initially stopped Petrassi near the intersection of Holbrook Road and Glenwood Road after seeing his vehicle hit a curb on Halsted and go airborne, according to the report. He then picked up speed and crossed over into oncoming traffic lanes before coming to a stop, police said. Petrassi reeked of alcohol and police had him perform field sobriety tests. He did the one-leg stand test, but when asked to do the walk and turn test, Petrassi refused and said, "You're trying to DUI me," according to the report. He was then taken into custody.
