Low attendance at the American Legion car show on Saturday surprised the attendees that came to show off their vehicles. A small number of car owners came to show off their rides on a hot end of summer Saturday. Proceeds benefit the Make-A-Wish foundation. Grilled items were served as well as ice cold drinks. Over one hundred cars showed up to St. James Health Antique and Classic Car Show.
Hundreds of Chicago Heights residents turned out for the St. James Health and Antique Classic Car Show. From muscle cars to Model As the parking lot at WellGroup Medical Center in Chicago Heights was full of historical cars. "There are a lot of vintage machines with a whole lot of quality out here," says Joe Kleszcznski from Chicago Heights. Going down the rows of cars Chicago Heights residents commented on making this a permanent event. Alderman Josh Deabel was happy with the turnout. " I counted about 108 cars, this turned out better than I expected," he said. "This is a good thing for the city, we should do more shows like this."
