Loan Store Employee 'Misplaces' More Than $10,000: Police

An employee of First Choice Loans may have made a New Year's resolution to find a new job.

A woman, who worked at a Chicago Heights loan store, quit her job after another employee asked her what she did with more than $10,500 of the business's cash.  An employee at First Choice Loans, located in the 400 block of West 14th Street, told his manager he found a deposit slip in the business safe for $16,550, along with $6,050 in cash on Dec. 29, according to the report. The woman was supposed to deposit $16,550 in cash three days before but did not. He checked the records and saw that the woman had come into work the day before but left at 10:20 a.m., according to the report. She returned on Dec. 29 and placed the deposit slip and cash in the safe. The employee called the woman and left a message about the missing money. Four minutes…
