Bryan Craig says his controversial book was not a part of his work responsibilities and should not have gotten him fired.
Former Rich Central High School guidance counselor and girls' basketball coach Bryan Craig is filing a major lawsuit against School District 227 after its board of education fired him. Bryan Craig is seeking $1 million in damages, saying he suffer injuries after being put on leave and terminated over his self-published book "It's Her Fault," Sun-Times Media reports. The book, which included lines like "the easiest kill for a man is through the young lady with low self-esteem,” was considered offensive by the district. The Rich 227 Board of Education fired tenured teacher and guidance counselor Bryan Craig in a 6-0 vote Tuesday evening.
Rich Township School District 227 fired counselor and former varsity girls basketball coach Bryan Craig just weeks after his book, "It's Her Fault" sparked concern over portions encouraging promiscuity and oral sex. The Rich Township High School District 227 Board of Education will be meeting Tuesday, Sept. 20, with several items on the agenda.
Supt. Donna Simpson Leak and the Rich 227 Board of Education will meet Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 7:30 p.m. to discuss matters concerning Rich Central, Rich East and Rich South high schools. Here are a few things to look forward to for the week of Sept. 19-25.
The Heights City Council will be meeting for the first time since Aug. 15 to discussed several items on a two-page agenda. The council normally meets twice per month, but the first meeting was cancelled to avoid conflicting with Labor Day. The meeting will be at 7 p.m. in the Chicago Heights City Hall building, as usual. Take a look at the agenda to see what items will be discussed tonight. This guy is being used as a scape goat for bigger political plans of "top personnel" at SD 227. There is now a second investigation into a 2nd teacher at Rich East High School as well in regards to inappropriate conduct with a former student. It's funny to me how the top people (Owens and Simpson-Leak) at the SD speak on their own SD's matters publicly through guest writing in personal opinion …   more ›
