Jesse Jackson Jr. in Plea Deal Talks, Sun-Times Columnist Says

Jackson is in ongoing talks with federal investigators about a plea deal, Michael Sneed's sources are saying.

The same congressman that grabbed 64 percent of the vote to win his district back could be working on a plea agreement with the feds, according to longtime Sun-Times columnist Michael Sneed. “No one has pled guilty, but plea discussions are ongoing,” one of Sneed's sources told her. Some of the information being revealed in a federal investigation could be damning for Jesse Jackson Jr. The congressman may have used campaign funds to buy a $40,000 watch for a female friend, according to Sneed's sources. Jackson is under criminal investigation under suspicions that he used campaign funds to decorate his Washington D.C. home. Heights Man Accused of Murdering Girlfriend Pleads Not Guilty

George Kleopa, 33, pleaded not guilty to six counts of felony murder, Tuesday in the March shooting death of 30-year-old Michele Peters.

The arraignment of George Kleopa, 33, on murder charges in connection to the shooting death of his live-in girlfriend was a swift affair Tuesday morning in a Markham courtroom. Cook County prosecutors say Kleopa fatally shot Michele Peters, 30, in the Chicago Heights home they shared with their two young sons in the early morning hours of March 6. Michele Peters' family and friends say the young mom was planning to move with her children back to Hometown without Kleopa at the time of her death.
