Ann, I attached some photos from a previous article. The Village Hall renovations have been done for several months, and we published photos of the inside when the village board held its first meeting there. This was more about the ceremony, of which I'm also posting video. Thanks.

Three comments have been removed due to profanity. You guys know the rules—no swearing. Can we please maintain some level of respect? Thank you.

Rob, actually the letter was forwarded to the media by the superintendent. This is fairly normal practice for these types of threats.

Let's refrain from making accusations when there's no proof. I try to keep these comment boards as friendly as possible (though it is difficult sometimes), especially when they are DG-specific. Thanks.

There should be an editor's note. If there's not (it's been a while, so I'd have to go back and check), it was an oversight. Nothing suspicious about the change. It was changed almost immediately after it was originally published, actually. Plus, I would argue that the first story wasn't technically wrong. It was uncontested, though just informally. I added the details about them remaining on the ballot. I will make a note, though. Sorry for the confusion.

Not sure about the Zoey comment, but I updated the article because I incorrectly reported that the race was uncontested. It was, informally, but technically it wasn't. All six names were on the ballot, and it was important to update the article to reflect that. It was actually reported incorrectly by three news organizations in town. I updated the original story instead of posting a new one. I was told by the DGCA that they found out about Henry withdrawing when it was reported by the media. He claims he told Julia Beckman about a week before the public announcement. DGCA told me they didn't remove his name from the endorsements because all the materials had been printed and they never heard from him. He said he assumed his name would be dropped.
It's a lot of he said, she said, but those were the responses provided to me when I spoke to both parties. Take from it what you will.

Sorry about that. I waited up for the list, which was released at 12:01 a.m. but forgot to change the state and national ranking for South. The article has been updated. Thank you for bringing it to my attention!

They usually have to formally discuss that at a board meeting. I know this just happened in Lemont, where I cover District 113A. They had to amend their calendar.

I know I, for one, wouldn't be thrilled if elected officials were ignoring Patch. Just saying.
