Lincoln Mall One of 'Most Concerning Buildings Ever Inspected': Building Inspector

The owners of the facility owe almost $9 million in back fines and taxes, according to a WGN report.

Cook County Judge Thomas J. Condon will hear arguments at 2 p.m. today on whether to order the immediate closure of Lincoln Mall in Matteson. The mall recently came under fire after an inspection revealed over 25 structural, fire and safety code violations.

"I have to say that this ranks as one of the most concerning facilities that I have ever inspected," Matteson Chief Building Inspector Bill Gleason said.

Closure of the mall will result in over 100 employees losing their jobs.
