Greenbriar School Warns Parents of 'Suspicious' Man

The school sent students home with a safety alert letter Wednesday afternoon.

Greenbriar School is warning parents of a “suspicious male” caught lurking around Greenbriar School Wednesday morning. 

A safety alert letter issued by the school states the man approached a student and asked to come in the school to use the bathroom. When the student refused, the man beckoned the student over, according to the letter. The student left the situation and notified school staff.

The man was described as in his late 50s to early 60s and less than 6 feet tall with dark, thinning hair. He was last seen wearing brown jogging pants.

Neither Greenbriar School Principal Joe Taylor nor District 170 Supt. Tom Amadio were available for comment Wednesday evening.

Anyone who may have any information on the whereabouts of the man can call Chicago Heights Police at 708-754-2121.
