Man Punched In Back of Head at Gas Station

The attacker claims the 'voices' he hears made him do it.

A bearded man wearing cowboy boots walked into a gas station and punched a Chicago Heights man in the back of the head, unprovoked, according to police.

Police say the Heights man was minding his own business at the 711 S Halsted Street Marathon gas station around 6:30 a.m. on Nov. 3 when he was knocked in the back of the head by the unknown man. After the punch, he asked the man why he did it, and he responded, “Because I hear voices.”

The two then took the fight outside and the Heights man dealt his attacker several solid blows to the nose and mouth, causing him to retreat down a nearby alley, according to the report. The Heights man showed only small lacerations on his right hand and knuckles and refused medical attention.
