Heights Biz Owners United in Tornado Relief Drive

Local business owners Jared Pryszcz and Mike Ferry had never met before, but when Ferry heard about Pryszcz’ efforts to help the victims of Sunday's tornado in Coal City, he decided to get in touch.

“I was planning on doing something similar, and when I found out that Jared was doing this collection, I figured why not team up?” Mike Ferry, owner of Complete Construction Resources in Chicago Heights said.

Pryszcz, owner of J&J Painting and Restoration, had decided to start a tornado relief effort when he heard about a friend’s family who was affected.

Through their combined efforts, the team raised $650 in gift cards and checks, one trailer of food and water and another trailer of clothes, according to Ferry.

The two drove down to Coal City on Saturday to deliver the proceeds to United Methodist Church.

“I’m very happy how it went,” Pryszcz said.

While the drive may be over, Pryszcz and Ferry’s partnership is not.

“Actually, (we) were talking about working together on two projects I have coming up,” Ferry said.
