What Else to Watch For This Week

  • Will you catch the Cup? The Stanley Cup will make several appearances in the Southland this week—like this one in Crestwood on July 24. Will you dish out the dough for a photo opp with Lord Stanley's Cup?
  • Need help after April's floods? Time's almost up. You have until July 24 to call dibs on FEMA funds to help repair any damage.
  • What should Chicago Heights look like in 2030? Chicago Heights is planning for its future—and leaders want your input. Stop by a free, public meeting July 24 at 7 p.m. at City Hall (1601 Chicago Rd.). RSVP by emailing Kendra Smith, ksmith@cmap.illinois.gov or calling 312-386-8774.
  • Honor deceased Mayor Alex Lopez: Pitch in school supplies. Help out local students in need, and honor the memory of former mayor Alex Lopez, with a school supply drive Saturday, July 27, at 3 Stars Restaurant (194 E. 22nd St.)
