From the Mouths of Babes

Overwhelmed by my husband's fight against cancer, I've been inspired by a child's wonderful optimism. We should all remember the possibility we once saw as children.

It's been a hard few months after my Jaime's diagnosis with cancer.  An emotional roller coaster... Sometimes it's hard to believe it's even real.  Our friends have been amazing... At one of the hardest moments, my best friend, reminded me that family is something we create.

I've always known it, but this have proven it...

I've been angry and scared, kind of consumed by it at times.  Today, I was moved by my friend's son- who thought that after tomorrow's Relay for Life, all cancer would be cured.  While I know it's not reality, it inspires me with confidence in the next generation. So many people are cynical.  So ready to believe that nothing they do will make a difference- and as a result they do nothing. It's discouraging, and likely why we're not seeing the change we all claim to want. There's that quote "BE the change you want to see in the world." Maybe the next generation will do exactly that.   Let's hope they create a world where people care for others, where people come before profit, and where they dare to believe what they do makes a difference.
